A message to to our supporters

Thank you for your continued support throughout the years. As an environmental charity, Ecologos truly depends on the support of individuals and businesses that share our vision and in doing so, help us carry our programming forward.

Your gift is also an investment in our collective future and all those we will reach through our programming. Remembering that all of our actions have consequences, you are one of the many heroes in this ongoing story.

A message from the Chair of our Board of Directors

Since 2021 was the Water Docs Film Festival’s 10th anniversary, we reached out and made new connections with 13 film festivals and 3 water organizations across Canada, collaborating with them to help amplify water and climate change messages through the inspiring films and filmmakers who participated. Although 2022 was a hiatus for the film festival as part of our transition year, we're looking forward to offering it again as a hybrid event in the coming year. While we must now rethink the scope of our film festival, we have a plan for the future, continuing to do our bit to educate, inform and inspire climate action through the #LaterNoMore: Activating Climate Solutions Now! project.

A strong year in partnership and community engagement

We grew our strong digital presence and garnered an engaged audience. Our partnerships, developed in 2021, resulted in a cumulative 226,206 Twitter followers, 409,753 Instagram followers, 28,268 email addresses, 311,082 monthly website visitors and 435,072 Facebook followers

Our average open rate on emails sent to our supporters is 24% with a 9% click through rate.

Our 2021 survey revealed that 91% would change the purchase of a product or brand based on the sponsorship of this event. Not only does our audience want to hear from us but they also want to know who we are working with.

We focused on expansion

2021 ushered in a new look with the rebranding of our Water Docs programs and logos.

In 2022, our Board of Directors welcomed seven new directors, expanding the skill sets and experience of the Ecologos Board significantly. We also celebrated the work and career of our retiring Executive Director and co-founder, Stan Gibson.

Our program partners, Learning for a Sustainable Future (LSF), will be supporting the 2023 roll out of some new curriculum offered to schools across Canada.

We’ve developed new partnerships with DRAWDOWN Toronto, What About Water?, and Corporate Knights.

Our current programming is expanding with the development of the #LaterNoMore: Activating Climate Solutions Now! project.

Where we’re headed

Anchored by a 20 minute #LaterNoMore: Activating Climate Solutions Now! campaign video, Ecologos will present a three-day film festival that will showcase current climate change challenges and more importantly, innovative solutions in each of the six main challenge areas contributing to climate change. Selected film submissions will also be eligible to be part of our film library in which the filmmaker(s) will receive an agreed upon screening fee each time it is selected to be shown within other Ecologos programs. Stemming from the Water Docs Film Festival, the #LaterNoMore project will also be delivered through additional platforms.
